Iraq – Call to open opportunities for private insurers
Monday, 05 23 2016, Category: Insurance and Reinsurance, Country: Iraq
The insurance expert Mr. Saadoun Mashkal said that restricting insurance offers to specific companies will harm the interests of private insurance companies and prevent them from taking advantage of their legal rights to market all insurance classes and obtain a share of premiums.
He added in a discussion with “Al Sabaah” that the role of the 29 private insurance companies is to contribute to economic development by using their financial resources to protect the interests of the private, public and mixed sectors as well as all economic activities.
He called ministries and their departments to open up opportunities for private insurers instead of relying exclusively on the public insurers owned by the government.
