UAE – Car write-off and claims handling are main complaints

The Insurance Authority confirmed that the delays in the car write-off, claims handling and claim dispute procedures related to cars written off was the main source of complaints emanating from insurance customers indicating that most of the complaints were peacefully and legally treated with mutual agreements.
The Insurance Authority said that the number of complaints received in the first quarter of the year was 1525 complaints compared 817 complaints during the same period last year.
It clarified that most of the complaints received from insurance policyholders in the first quarter of the current year are related to negative practices of the employees of insurance companies.
