The National Health Insurance Company “Daman” confirmed that more than 70% of the registered persons renewed their insurance policies for the current year. The prices of insurance policies increased between 0% and 25%.
The CEO of Daman Mr. Michael Bitzer told “Al Khaleej” that a large percentage of health insurance contracts was renewed without being affected by any price increase. However, for some policies the prices increased to 25%, indicating that numerous factors affect the price of the contract such as the number of insured in the group at enterprises or companies, the adequate use of the policy, the non-abuse of medical facilities, medical inflation, the types of sicknesses affecting policyholders, and the type of service and coverage chosen for every policy.
