UAE - Woman to pay Dh3 million for crash caused by minor son

An Arab woman has been ordered by a Fujairah court to pay Dh3 million as compensation after a traffic accident caused by her minor son resulted in a permanent injury to a man. According to records at the Civil Circuit of the Kalba Federal Court of First Instance, a GCC national sustained critical injuries after he was hit by the car being driven by the minor. The crash left him with a 100 per cent permanent disability. Consequently, the family of the victim filed a civil lawsuit demanding damages for the physical, psychological and material harms the victim suffered in the mishap.
