The Insurance Authority warned specialized companies in the sector from declining motor insurance coverage exclusively because the age of the car owner exceeds 60 or 70 years as long as he has a driving license and his has not an obvious disability preventing him from driving.
This followed the inquiries of “Al Roeya” about the refusal of insurance companies to issue motor insurance contracts for those aged more than 60 years or the additional insurance fees imposed on them.
The Insurance Authority confirmed that insurance companies are not allowed to charge additional fees exclusively because the age of the car owner exceeds a certain number of years.
