Saudi Arabia started a new phase, which would help organize the health insurance sector and improve quality performance. This is in line with the accelerated steps taken by the Council of Cooperative Health Insurance in the country by drafting new regulations aiming at regulating the performance of hospitals in addition to the regulation of insurance companies that provide this service as well.
According to the information obtained by the “Asharq Al-Awsat” newspaper, the insurance companies which provide health insurance services asked the Council of Cooperative Health Insurance to control the performance of hospitals. This came against the backdrop of complaints made by insurers to the Council of Cooperative Health Insurance that stressed the importance of regulating performance and limiting the abuse practiced by some hospitals which offer this service.
