UAE – Injured transportation fees raise insurance fears

As part of the efforts of the Emirate of Dubai to preserve the lives of vehicle drivers and pedestrians, two weeks ago His Excellency Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, chairman of the Executive Council issued the decision of the council No (2) of year 2016 in order to charge financial fees against the transportation of the persons injured during road traffic accidents. This decision is effective starting from 28 February.
The Dubai Police and the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services will levy from insurers the amount of AED 6770 for every injured person against the ambulance service and medical transportation fees in case of bodily injury or death caused by vehicle which is insured by these insurance companies.
