The insurance sector had different opinions about Misr Insurance entering the stock exchange. This would raise the number of insurance companies listed in the stock exchange to 3 companies out of 33 insurance companies operating in Egypt.
In light of the very limited number of insurers listed, “Al Borsa News” studied the rationale of entering the stock exchange and whether it is worth it given the costs. The other question is whether a wave of entries into the stock exchange is expected.
Mr. Abdul Raouf Kotb President of the Insurance Federation of Egypt and the Managing Director of Egyptian Saudi Insurance House said that his company might offer a part of its capital in the stock exchange and that this might happen in the future.
