Lebanon – Insurance profits USD 140.96 mln in 2014

The Insurance Control Commission (ICC) is a regulatory body in the Ministry of Economy and Trade issued its annual report on the Lebanese insurance sector, which shows that the consolidated annual profits of the sector improved by 25.81% during year 2014 reaching USD 140.96 million, compared to USD 112.04 million during year 2013.
Within this scope, the annual profits of the sector grew by annual compound rate of 17.55% during the same period stretching from 2007 to 2014.
The report mentions that the previous improvement in the profitability level is related to the 4.16% increase in written premiums which reached USD 1.47 billion.
