The Deputy Finance Minister Dr. Mohamed Moeit said that the proposed comprehensive health insurance law will govern all the issues of comprehensive health coverage for citizens and will overcome the shortcomings of the current law including the current insurance system.
He added in the The Fourth Regional Forum of Medical Insurance and Health Care that the new system will establish three authorities: an authority for financing only and the procurement of additional service, an authority to provide health care that will include 450 hospitals in addition to a supervisory authority specialized in quality, standard issues and licensing.
“Moeit” added that the insured will have the right to choose the source of treatment among the facilities offered by the authority. In case the insured goes to a facility outside the network provided by the authority the executive instructions will regulate expense reimbursement according to the EGP currency.
