Health insurance an opportunity to build an Arab human capital

His Excellency Mr. Ashraf Salman the Minister of Investment said that the Fourth Regional Forum of Medical Insurance is an opportunity to strengthen the joint Arab action in an important phase of Arab history.
Dr. Mohamed Youssef, Chairman of Misr Holding Insurance Company made a speech on behalf of the Minister of Investment in the opening session saying that medical insurance is an opportunity to build the Arab human capital and take advantage of available opportunities in order to provide comprehensive health insurance for the Arab citizen.
He clarified that health insurance started in Germany in year 1883 indicating that there are 400 million citizens worldwide who are deprived from health insurance and health care indicating that government spending on health globally represents 60% whereas the private sector covers the remaining part.
He added that the first health insurance policy was issued in Egypt in year 1957 through both “Misr” and “United” companies noting that “health insurance” grew during year 2014 by 27% with total premiums of EGP 934 million.
