Insurance Companies’ Share of Egyptian Health Expenditure Does Not Exceed 4%.

The Medical Insurance Director at Egypt Life Insurance Company and the President of the Healthcare Commission at the Egyptian Insurance Union, Saeed Bayyoumi, stated that the insurance companies’ share of Egyptian healthcare expenditures does not exceed 4%.
Bayyoumi added during the seminar organized by the Union that personal healthcare spending reaches 70% of the total healthcare expenditure in the country, while the Government’s share stands at 17% and the public health insurance share at 6%. As for insurance funds and healthcare companies, they spend almost 3% of the total expenditures.
