Kuwait – Health Insurance on visiting “Cards”

Informed administrative sources from the “Ministry of Health” said that the ministry aims at imposing health insurance on visiting “cards” for visitors of Kuwait whether for tourism or commercial visits indicating that a team from the office of the Minister of Health and legal affairs in the ministry is currently finalizing the draft of this law in order to raise it to the Council of Ministers soon in order to take the appropriate decision.
The sources told “Al Jarida” that this team researched the mechanism to implement this law and its advantages in collaboration with insurance companies following the practice followed by most European countries which impose health insurance on visitors.
They also confirmed that “the ministry does not intend to cancel insurance on expatriates or increasing related fees and does not currently consider moving from the health guarantee system to health insurance”.
