The situation witnessed by Iraq, in particular in the beginnings of the 90s of the last century and the subsequent absence of insurance awareness prevented the insurance sector from playing an active role in the economy of the country, where this sector is one of the important contributors in the financing and launching of development, service and investment projects.
According to experts after the country overcame the implications of the chapter seven sanctions, the insurance sector is still facing internal and external challenges in rebuilding relationships with international insurance and reinsurance companies and rebuilding insurance culture within the society.
