Aviation rates keep falling despite losses

Despite high profile losses in 2014 and the first half of 2015 the aviation insurance market continues to soften. However, some observers now question the sustainability of current premium rate decreases.
In the second quarter of 2015 aviation rates fell an average of 11%, compared with 20% reductions in the same period of 2014, according to insurance broker JLT. Most accounts saw premium decreases. Only airlines in high-risk zones or with losses bucked this trend.
