The Emirates Society for Consumer Protection said that it received complaints from insurance policyholders about the AED 50 imposed by insurance companies against the medical ambulance service.
The Insurance Authority said that this amount is very low in order to cover the medical ambulance service and provides a lot of benefits to policyholders in case the risk materializes, noting a previous decision by the Authority to add the “medical ambulance service” in both the “Third Party” and “Comprehensive” motor policies.
It indicated that some companies provided that service for free and treated it from a humanitarian and social responsibility perspective.
