Saudi Arabia – Traffic activities and insurance to be electronically linked

The head of the insurance committee in the Sharqiyah Chamber revealed that there are serious moves to link electronically the insurance companies to the traffic department in order to obtain the full information about insurance applicant, indicating that the electronic linking represents a necessary need for insurance companies which aim at pricing the insurance policy against third parties and comprehensive policies according to the records of every customer, adding that intensive meetings have been held between insurance companies and traffic department officials in order to speed the electronic link noting that the electronic linking was addressed in the last Saudi Insurance Symposium that was lately organized in Riyadh.
He expected to complete all the steps related to linking electronically the traffic department and insurance companies by year end 2015, adding that the number of road accidents for every customer will set the insurance policy pricing, so the customer who has a clean record will obtain a different pricing than the customer who records full of traffic accidents, confirming that there is joint belief of the traffic department and insurance companies about the necessity to achieve this electronic networking during as short period.
