The council of cooperative health insurance plays a vital role in Saudi Arabia’s insurance sector.

According to the minister of health Khalid Alfalih, the inauguration of the new building of the council of cooperative health insurance comes hand in hand with the requirements of the health insurance market that rules 52% of the total insurance activity. These numbers calls out to double the efforts and expand the strategies, plans, and supervising mechanisms, which enable the council to fulfill its tasks fully, and comply with the importance of the health insurance sector which is a vital part of the national economy.
On his part, the secretary general of the council, Mohammed Bin Salman Al Hussein, said that the support and the follow up from the minister of health will have a big impact in the development of health care in general, and the health insurance sector specifically, confirming that the true role of the general secretariat is to provide all those who work in the private sector, including their families, with the health care they need. This process should be done under the supervision of the council to make sure the system is applied.
Following that, the minister of health directed the councils meeting where he welcomed the members, and stressed on the importance of the vital role that the council is doing in strengthening the health insurance market. He also stated his delight with the good results that the annual report of 2014 showed.
