UAE – The “Ministry of Health” cooperates with insurers

The Ministry of Health signed a cooperation agreement with a company specialized in the administration of claims in the country in order to handle health insurance claims paid by insurance companies but which relate in medical facilities owned by the ministry. This agreement is being made in collaboration with the ministry of finance. Mr. Awad Al Kotbi, assistant undersecretary at the ministry's support services signed the agreement in headquarters of the ministry of health in Dubai in the presence of Dr. Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, Mohammed Al Ulama and a number of officials. Under this agreement, the Ministry of Health will offer health services to insurance policyholders through its medical facilities under the scope of the insurance contracts which include the ministry’ facilities. This will also cover injuries caused in motor accidents when the policyholders of these insurers will cause accidents. And it will also apply to visitors where their entrance permit entails emergency health insurance. The first phase of this project will start in the beginning of next October.
