Medical claims management companies are selling health insurance policies and providing insurance coverage - a violation of the insurance law which doesn’t give them this right. In addition to this, their budgets and capital don’t qualify them to take on these risks.
Officials in the insurance sector informed “Al Roeya”, on the sidelines of the Health Insurance Conference which concluded its work yesterday in Dubai and was organized by the Emirates Insurance Association, that insurance money is accessible.
They also mentioned some violations by medical service providers who require a certain number of revisions by doctors, a practice that causes them to disregard the humanitarian aspect of providing health care and it becomes simply business to them.
Marwan Al Naboulsi, Acting Director of the Health System Financing Department at the Abu Dhabi Health Authority, held medical services providers responsible for squandering insurance money.
He also pointed out that the Abu Dhabi Health Authority will examine patterns in Abu Dhabi in the near future to be able to perform periodical analyses and monitor suppliers and their performance.
