Formation of a Joint Committee to Develop the Insurance Industry in the Gulf States

Ministers of Trade of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) studied an Emirati proposal yesterday in Doha regarding the coordination of insurance legislations between GCC countries through the preparation of common and sophisticated regulatory lists for some important fields in insurance.
According to the Emirati News Agency, there was an agreement among countries during the meeting to form a committee concerned with the development and regulation of the insurance industry where all GCC countries are represented.
The 51st Gulf Cooperation Council Trade Cooperation Committee meeting kicked off yesterday with participants discussing barriers to trade, facilitating the flow of goods between GCC countries and the recommendations from the preparatory meeting of the agents of ministries, that was held this month, regarding this issue.
