United Arab Emirates – Insurance Authority’s Board of Directors Discusses Insurance Issues

The Insurance Authority’s board of directors held a meeting chaired by His Excellency Engineer Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansoori, Minister of Economy and Chairman of the Board of Directors, where they discussed many issues pertaining to the Insurance Authority and the UAE insurance sector. They also discussed the new government excellence system for the Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum award for excellence in governmental performance and methods for applying it on the Insurance Authority.
The meeting was attended by H.E. Humaid Ali bin Butti Al Muhairi, the board’s vice president, H.E. Ebrahim Obaid Al Zaabi, Director General of the Insurance Authority, and the board members H.E. Maryam Buti Al Suwaidi, H.E. Maryam Mohammad Amiri, H.E. Hamad Harith AL Madfaa, Mr. Hamad Saif Al Mansouri and Mr. Ibrahim bin Nasser Lootah.
The board also reviewed the Insurance Authority’s performance and the results of developing smart electronic services. The Insurance Authority has succeeded in achieving great leaps in its transition to provide smart electronic services to its customers by converting more than 35 services to smart electronic services and this has helped improve the IA’s performance and enhanced competitive business performance in the local insurance market. Additionally, the IA will try to convert the remaining services to smart electronic services this year.
Innovation and future outlooks within the government excellence system were also discussed by the board. The Board also reviewed the actions taken on the level of efficiency and governance of business systems and methods to assess results through the evaluation of all suitable indicators to monitor, understand and predict the performance of capacity and talent and how much targets are being met, and there was a focus on learning and development.
