Insurance companies refuse to cover car accidents in the complex mixed geographical regions that are situated in the roads linking the United Arab Emirates and the Sultanate of Oman.
The Insurance Authority received six complaints in the last quarter of year 2014 which were settled according to the policy issued to the insured.
The insurance customers complained about the refusal of insurance companies to cover the damages that affect their cars on the roads shared with the Sultanate of Oman although they are moving toward Emirati territories, but they are forced to pass through Omani lands in order to reach their destination.
Experts were shocked by the additional amounts charged by insurance companies on the insured who want coverage in the shared regions with the Sultanate of Oman and which they are forced to go through in order to reach their Emirati destinations.
