Saudi Arabia – 20% increase in health insurance cost
Wednesday, 11 11 2015, Category: Insurance and Reinsurance, Country: Saudi Arabia
Mr. Adel Al-Issa media spokesman for insurance companies told “Al Madina newspaper”: the continuous increase in the health service prices at private facilities was one of the most important factors which contributed to increase the health insurance prices in the KSA by at least 20% indicating that insurance companies submitted numerous reports and complaints on this issue especially to the Council of Cooperative Health Insurance asking for additional regulation and control on these facilities which still raise their prices.
Al-Issa added: Some of these facilities raise the treatment prices of the insurance beneficiary and do not respect the prices agreed upon with the insurance company. This causes an increase in the cost borne by the insurance company especially given the fact that the insurer cannot charge the customer for the sudden increase.
