The Council of Cooperative Health Insurance directed the official insurance companies operating in the local market in Saudi Arabia to ask for the commitment of beneficiaries for the “visitor policy” that will prevent the abuse in obtaining treatment in Saudi Arabia. An informed source told the “Okaz newspaper” that “the insurance policy will ask for the commitment of the insured and any beneficiary of the policy to avoid using the policy for a previously known needed treatment or previously diagnosed case or visiting KSA in order to receive the benefit from a covered treatment”. The insurance policy will emphasizes that all notifications or correspondence between insurance parties should be official messages. Moreover, the insurance company has to notify the insured about the ending date of the insurance policy. Additionally, the insured has to notify the insurance company about any changes related to the information he submitted in his application.
